This week.
Well it has been a topsy turvy week. What with a gig coming up, the impending release of "Cheat" and the ongoing saga of the Cordite album things were shaping up to be a mad week. Practice was going well, two new songs to be added to the lineup and then disaster. Ronan burst his ear drum. Never one's to panic (except in cases of extreme duress or excitment ;) ) we struggled on and it looks like it is all going to pan out. I swear, if things were ever easy we would fall over from surprise! On a lighter note the afformentioned album is getting closer and closer. The final few phases are now in motion and......ok we aren't saying anything yet cause you never know. Anyways, have a look at the new pics, Eoin and Alan had a bit of a competition this week to see who would feature more....turned out pretty equal, although judging by the last two Alan looks like he won ;)
Website goes Live!
After a few months of hard work on everyone's part, the new website goes live. With a nice new look and a few new features we hope you will enjoy it. Picture of the week will bring you funny pic's of almost anything we find - be it people, places or things. Soon you will see a few vids appear on the site - look to the right, thats where they will be when done. And the forum will get an overhaul in due course. For the slightly madder and nuttier side of the band check out the bebo page ( Cordite on BEBO! ) and the myspace page( Cordite on Myspace ) for some tracks - they will change overtime and some tracks will appear there that you won't see anywhere else.
So for now, enjoy the site, listen to the tunes and if you like us then come join us on bebo/myspace, whichever tickles your fancy.
Album News.
We have spent the past week in that horrible limbo place between finishing the album and actually getting the nitty gritty details done. Registering names, getting IRSC numbers, printing, artwork, PR etc...it all takes it's toll. To boot, we have also had the question of our own ability - is this as good as it can be? Could we maybe have played that a bit better? Could we have saved some money here or could we have spent more there and ended up happier? All these questions have been floating through the minds of the band members in the past week or so and as a result we are all mentally knackered! Gigs are still on the horizon but we can't confirm anything as of yet. We have also been thinking about the future and what does it really mean to have a debut album finally finished? It's funny how you will always forget about what you have done and always start to think about what you have to do. We have managed to get so far and yet it feels like we are only beginning. There is no doubt in my mind that every band goes through this limbo phase at some stage - and the self questioning that accompanies it. I get the impression that once we get a few gigs together we will all be much happier! So for now we have to settle with doing the boring, mind bending and frankly awful administration stuff and concentrate less on the music. And who said the life of a rock band is entertaining?!?!? They should be shot! ;)
Nothing ventured nothing gained.
How true is that statement?!??!?! We spent the last week doing.....well doing nothing really. I think all the stress and work to get things finished took a lot out of us but we are back working this week, you'll be glad to know ;)
So what did we do with our week off? Alan worked.....nights.....from 7pm to 8 am and nearly died as a result. Eoin and Rory spent most of the week discussing in some great detail how shit Tiger Woods '07 is....while playing Tiger Woods '07 (yes we got slightly addicted even if it is shite) and Ronan played drums (ah! a redeeming member at last!!!).
Sat night was time to let the hair down (well me at least, sniff, sniff) and we ended up on the piss. How to sum up the night? Eoin was told his hair is lovely (seriously pictures will follow), Alan fell asleep in a toilet, Rory was drunkenly proclaimed Pro Evo Champion and Ronan behaved himself and kindly drove Eoin home. This all happened in the Everyman by the way - cracking night. There are some pics that I will put up but only when I find the energy.
Work is crap.
I say 25 hour working week with better pay!! Who's with me??
